A note at the beginning by Phelipe Antonio Fernandez de Vallejo (dat. Toledo, Jan. 17, 1791]), states that these original works of Mariana in 7 volumes were bought by him at the sale of the Jesuits’ property in 1787.

At the beginning of Vol. i. is a memorandum of Phelipe Antonio Fernandez de Vallejo, recording the aequisition of the collection, which had formerly been in possession of the Jesuits’ College at Toledo; 17 Jan. 1791.
