Statistics

The following tables show the quantitative growth of PhiloBiblon's three
databases—BETA, BITAGAP y BITECA—from December of 2013 until October of 2017.
What they do not show is their qualitative growth, based on personal inspection of manuscripts
and early editions, either in situ or by means of the growing number of high-quality digital facsimiles.

During these four years the total number or records has grown by more than 50,000, from 139,819 to 192,150.

The first chart shows the number of records in each relational table of
each bibliography (as of 22 October 2017). The ANALYTIC table lists the total number of
witnesses, i.e., copies, of the texts listed in WORKS as found in MANUSCRIPTS and EDITIONS.
